The image is a tree that has been gnarled an half buried from water and sediment in a flash flood.
This is part of a mixed media collage series created from a collection of mailing label remnants. I gathered these remnants from a former day job in which I mailed travel catalogs worldwide. When I quit the job in 2009 I stopped collecting the remnants and chose to use these label remnants as a medium in order to more decisively and slowly create landscape images. As I slowly build the forms and textures with the remnants I am creating my own geologic timeline that is contrasted to mass produced images of landscape. As of 2014, I am still creating new work for this series. 2004-2014
